over 30 years, and researcher for the past 11 years, specializing in
issues related to youth, women and HIV/AIDS, and the
lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender communities. Her current research
interests include the continued dissemination and adoption of the
Working It Out Project, a video-based manualized intervention program
for LBG adolescents, developed jointly by Dr. Hunter with researchers,
representatives of community-based organizations, and youth. This
project gathered data from adolescents on aspects of their risk
behaviors and coping skills. In addition the intervention continues to
be used and disseminated to new organizations interested in providing
services to this population. Dr. Hunter is also currently working with
GMHC's Women's Family and Children's Services Program to develop a
needs assessment of HIV positive lesbian mothers and their access to
services.
