P8719 Master's essay in sociomedical sciences
Required for M.P.H. students in the Sociomedical Sciences program.
The essay should involve research based either on data collected by the
student or on secondary analysis of available data. It may develop from
a term paper for a course, from a research study, or independent study.
The Project, an option in place of the essay for students in the Health
Promotion/Disease Prevention track, might take the form of a health
promotion curriculum, a grant proposal, or strategies for a social
marketing campaign. The essay/project requires review by two full-time
faculty members from the Department.
