EXPERTISE: women's health and reproductive health in
developing countries, with special emphasis on maternal mortality.

Director of the Averting Maternal Death and Disability (AMDD) Program; Coordinated the Prevention of Maternal Mortality Network in West Africa from 1987 to 1997; consultant to UNICEF, United Nations Development Programme, World Health Organization, United Nations Fund for Population Activities, and World Bank.
