Allan Rosenfield to be Special Guest at National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association Griswold v. Connecticut Gala Luncheon The National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA) will commemorate the 1965 landmark Griswold v. Connecticut U.S. Supreme Court decision to recognize an individual’s right to privacy in family planning matters at a gala luncheon on April 29, 2008, which will be held during its 2008 National Conference, “Building a Stronger Society: Conversations on Family Planning.” The groundbreaking Griswold v. Connecticut case became the basis for later reproductive rights decisions. Allan Rosenfield, MD, dean and DeLamar Professor, has been a pioneer in the field of reproductive, maternal, and child health throughout his 40-year career, fostering remarkable progress in women’s health throughout the world. Said Dr. Rosenfield, “I am honored to be a special guest of the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association as they mark this momentous case.” The NFPRHA’s 2008 National Conference will be held in Bethesda, Maryland from April 27-30. Topics to be covered over the four-day event range from contraception technology and reducing unintended pregnancies in 20-somethings to family planning in Latino communities and a comprehensive sex education workshop. For more information about the conference, please visit www.nfprha.org.
