Wendy Chavkin Receives Felicia Stewart Advocacy Award

Photo of Dr. ChavkinThe Population, Family Planning and Reproductive Health Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA) presented Wendy Chavkin, MD, professor of clinical Population and Family Health, with its Felicia Stewart Advocacy Award, recognizing her demonstrated commitment to advocacy on behalf of reproductive health and rights. The award is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Felicia Stewart and her vision, commitment, leadership, and advocacy in the field.

The Population, Family Planning and Reproductive Health Section was founded in 1975 and currently has approximately 900 primary members. Members of the section are concerned with diverse issues and topics related to population, family planning, and reproductive health. With the ultimate goal of improving the health and well-being of women, men and children, the section strives to build bridges between local and global reproductive health issues; between research and public policy and advocacy; and across academic disciplines and professions.
