Mailman School Launches New Student Resources and Online Tools
The handbook will be distributed during orientation at the end of August and will also be available in the Office of Student Affairs, suite 1030. Students will be able to access an online version as well. Please check the Mailman School website in September for the live link. In addition to the new handbook, the Office of Academic Affairs has revamped the School's online course offerings and descriptions. With the click of a button, students can view course offerings for a single department or for courses offered across the School. Users also have the ability to view course descriptions by clicking on a course number. A related new feature is a searchable database of descriptions that allows current and prospective students to quickly and easily find courses in a specific subject. "The beauty of the Web lies in its ability to present real-time information, says Ian Lapp, PhD, associate dean of Academic Affairs and Education. "As Mailman School faculty members enhance existing courses and develop new ones to keep up with the dynamic world of public health, we will update the content of this site so that our students will always be 'in-the-know' about the rich educational opportunities that Mailman School offers."
