Resources for Alumni Job Seekers

Job Search Engines
The most valuable resource for alumni who are currently seeking new career opportunities or contemplating a move in the future is the Public Health Positions job search engine at www.mailmanschool.org/
sph/Job_login.asp
. Alumni can use this tool to search for opportunities based on location, function, and industry. The site is password-protected: the user ID is "student" and the password is "sphocs." Other search engines which can be useful are publichealthjobs.net and the APHA Public Health Career Mart.

Career Days
Fall and spring career day events typically feature 45-50 employers who are interested in recruiting Mailman students and alumni. The fall 2007 Career Day is scheduled for Friday, November 9. Updated information will be posted on the Career Services website closer to the event date.

Career Management Strategy
For alumni reentering the job market, the Office of Career Services offers tips on interviewing, networking, and conducting an out-of-town job search. For more information, please visit the Career Services website, click on Student/Alumni Services, and follow the dropdown menu to the Career Management Strategy section.

Career Counseling
During the School’s academic breaks (December/January and summer months), the Office of Career Services can accommodate alumni who wish to make appointments to discuss career issues including job searching, resume development, and career changing.  To schedule an appointment, please contact Tanya Cobbs Leslie at TCL1@columbia.edu.
