Alumni Return for Student Career Day When asked his reasons for participating in Career Day, Malik Abdur-Razzaq, MPH ‘96, of the Mosaic Business Group, a healthcare and business consulting company, responded, “I always meet new and interesting people. I also enjoy giving back to the Mailman community and sharing my experiences as a graduate of the School.” Mr. Abdur-Razzaq has found Mailman School students and graduates to be very ambitious. “They are interested in making their mark in the world.” John Murtha, MPH ‘99, of Deloitte Consulting LLP, remarked that “it is incumbent upon every graduate to give back to the School.” Mr. Murtha sees the Mailman School as a resource for hiring students with a solid background in healthcare who are ready to enter the industry. Assistant Dean of Career Services Tanya Cobbs Leslie, MA, M. Phil, encourages alumni to become more involved with Career Day and the Office of Career Services. According to Ms. Leslie, “Mailman School alumni can increase hiring opportunities for students and other alumni by actively advocating with their employers on behalf of the School and serving as a liaison between Career Services and their employers.” For more information about Career Services events and the Office of Career Services, visit http://www.mailman.hs.columbia.edu/careerservices/index.html.
