Travel Discounts and Benefits for Students & Faculty

An International Student Identity Card or an International Teacher Identity Card enables students and faculty to save money on transportation, accommodations, and other travel related expenses. Card benefits include a toll-free 24-hour, emergency Help Line and basic insurance to cover sickness, accident and emergency evacuation while traveling outside the United States if you purchase your card inside the US before departure. Students must be enrolled in a degree program. Cards can be obtained on 42nd Street here in NYC from the Council on International Educational Exchange; 205 East 42nd Street; New York, New York 10017; telephone 1-888-COUNCIL. There is a small fee and you must provide proof of your student or faculty status. Additional specific requirements for faculty and students wishing to acquire a card are available from the U.S. State Department website for students and teachers.
