The types of organizations available for practicum placements vary in scope of health topics and the degree to which they are organized to provide a training experience. Students contemplating international placement should also visit the "Other Resources" section which has information on visas, vaccinations and immunizations, and U.S. State Department tips for safe and secure travel abroad. In general, students contemplating international placements should seek medical care to discuss immunizations approximately 2 months before anticipated departure.
