Elizabeth Sparrow Director of Information Technology and Online Resources Elizabeth Sparrow is the Director for the Mailman School's Office of Information Technology and Online Resources, which falls under the auspices of the Associate Dean of Program Development. Her role includes working with School leadership to develop and execute a School strategy for information technology adoption that supports the School's three part mission emphasizing research, education, and service. She also represents the School's IT interests on various Medical Center and University committees regarding technology policies and practices at the institutional level. On a day-to-day basis, Elizabeth oversees four key IT functions at the School including server administration, desktop support, Web development, and digital document management. Elizabeth has been with Columbia since March 2003, when she joined the Medical Center as the manager of its in-house Web Design Studio. She transferred to the Mailman School of Public health to lead its Web development efforts in 2004, and since that time has assumed the role of IT/Web director. Elizabeth has a degree in Advertising from Syracuse University, and is currently pursuing her Master of Science Degree in Information Technology Management at Columbia. |
