This track focuses on the basic epidemiologic concepts and methods essential for research, program planning, and evaluation, including:
- The interrelationships of biological, environmental, and societal factors in health and disease;
- The design of epidemiologic studies, including field surveys, and the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large amounts of data; and
- The epidemiologic principles and methods that serve as the foundation for rational strategies of public health research and intervention.
Students also gain valuable professional experience through a domestic or international practicum.
